My (suprisingly) favorite invitation

I have spent the weekend relentlessly organizing, photographing and editing my portfolio. If you are a friend and I haven't called you back, now you know why. I am determined to launch my own website for my design services and I if I don't do it "full throttle", I will always find an excuse to work on something else (ahem.. blog, that's you.)
While jaunting down memory lane, I realized that I have designed hundreds of custom invitations (among many other things... not just invites!) Prior to living on Martha's Vineyard, I lived in Los Angeles and around the time I married Hubby I was lucky enough to have a dream job at Creative Intelligence that let me design almost anything I wanted for a lot of entertainment companies and rich celebrities.
What I found today surprised me. It wasn't a wedding invite for Geena Davis or Bruce Willis' birthday party invite, it was a "Save the Date" for my sister-in-law's baby shower. Admittedly, the actual invitation was the most beautiful invitation I have ever done, but this "Save the Date" made me fall in love with my own work all over again.
I am posting it because it's actually really easy to make. The outside is a vintage jigsaw puzzle, color-copied onto a plain white card stock. The label is Avery label stock and you can rubber stamp your own border (use clip art, whatever.) The inside is a little calendar I drew quickly on the computer and I circled the date of the shower. Then I sewed the little calendar into the invite. If it seems like too much, it's not. Give it a try. I just love it to pieces!
