If your secret shame is that you are an old-school preppy (à la Nantucket summers and prep schools in Connecticut, like moi) you might know that Paris retailer, Herve Chapelier, has been hawking these wonderfully designed and amazingly overpriced bucket totes for quite some time. I myself, owned a pink and brown one way back in the nineties when I lived on the east coast and gave a hoot about designer labels. Wish I had it now, because these babies still sell for close to their retail price on Ebay (check out a search result here).

My friend, Michelle B, excitedly pulled out her bag the other day and I just assumed it was the real thing because this gal is the bee's knees and totally top-shelf unlike my scrappy self. So much for snap judgements, to my surprise she was carrying the Danica version that I, myself, had sold at the Hello store a few years back. I didn't even save one when I had them in the store, but I knew I could find one here in Portland at New Seasons. They have lots of other colors (and other sizes) to choose from, not just the red one I picked up yesterday.

I checked the Danica website for retailers of this specific bag. They even have a blog to find their products that are featured in the news but apparently no one has reported on this bag besides me (so I guess you'll just have to call them.) P.S. Don't hate them because they are Candian, eh!
