Back to School; DIY groovy binders

This is our second year making these funky binders. I will probably be drinking my own urine before you find me buying a "Hannah Montana" or "High School Musical " anything. "The Simpsons" is about the only swag we will buy with someone else's name on it.

Anyways the kids started school this week which explains why I was too busy to post when I should have. Sky moved to a middle school that specializes in the arts so now I have to drive and pick up from different schools. (Last year they walked themselves two blocks away to and from our Elementary school... heaven!) So this new routine sucks for the moment, but at least they have cool binders because Mom's too cheap to throw her hard earned cash at Office Depot.

If these binders are a little too "skater" for your taste, scroll down a little. You can use maps, vintage fabrics, nice modern fabrics, family photos, whatever (in my next post, I cover a laptop in a popular fabric.) Remember you can buy lots of different colors and sizes of binders. blah, blah, blah, you get the point.

Hey if your cool store went broke you could have all this cool crap in your basement too!

Voila! Cool binders for cool kids!

I expected Sky to hide his in his backpack but he said he got a lot of compliments this week! Hurray for Mom! I didn't make my "tweener" look like a dork.

I love your blog. Tweens are totally hard to impress; I'm a part-time nanny for 8 of them. I know.
